Program Requirements
Requirements for the liberal arts minor in South Asian studies
A minimum of 20 credits of coursework consisting of:
Introductory Course in the chosen region of study
16 additional credits as indicated for each world area, including up to, but no more than, 8 credits of language study appropriate to the chosen area, at any level

course Islamic Art (4)
course Peoples and Cultures of India (4)
course Women Gender and Sexuality in Asia (4)
course Seminar in South Asian Studies (4)
course Introduction to Asian Literature (4)
course Philosophies and Religions of Asia (4)
course Political Systems of Asia (4)
course Introduction to Islam (4)
course Islam in the Modern World (4)
Language option: transferred coursework in any South Asian language
Other Coursework
Relevant independent study, directed research, or special topics coursework (e.g., course) may also count toward fulfillment of the minor requirements, subject to International Studies Academic Adviser approval.
