Program Requirements
Information Security Management, also called cybersecurity, ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of an organization’s information, data and IT services. Information security refers to the processes and methodologies which are designed and implemented to protect print, electronic or any other form of confidential, private and sensitive information from unauthorized access, use, misuse, disclosure, destruction, modification or disruption.

Additional Requirements
A minimum grade of C must be earned in each course in the Cybersecurity Analytics and Management minor and in the prerequisites for each course.
Certain course Special Topics courses can count as a minor requirement with prior approval of the Minor Coordinator based on the topic. Students cannot obtain both the Cybersecurity Analytics and Management Minor and Major with Cybersecurity Analytics and Management Concentration.
To earn this minor, and to take 3000 and 4000 level business classes, non-business students must meet with the minor coordinator and have an approved Minor Authorization Form detailing the courses and the prerequisites required for the given minor. Once approved for the minor, students must take all the remaining courses in the minor at Oakland University. Students must complete the prescribed courses for the minor with a grade of C or better in each course and the prerequisites for each course. Transfer students planning to earn a minor must earn at least 9 credits toward the minor at Oakland University; at least 6 of these 9 credits must be in courses at the 3000 level or above.
