Advanced Application of Analytics in Cyber Security

This course introduces advanced data analytics techniques used to investigate cyber security problems. Students will learn how to gather, process, store and visualize security-related data as well as the application of various statistical and machines learning techniques to detect intrusion and malicious activities. Through the study and application of data analytics - including cluster analysis, supervised machine learning, anomaly detection, and visualization - this course will address a suite of cybersecurity topics including cyber-attacks, anomaly detection, vulnerability analysis, strategic manipulation and propaganda. Prerequisite(s): MIS 4560.*Approved Slash Course. Credit can only be earned for MIS 4860 or MIS 5860.
