Requirements for the liberal arts minor in German


20 credits in German (GRM) or Modern Languages (ML) at the 2000 level and above selected from the following courses:

  • course Second Year German I (4)*

  • course Second Year German II (4)*

  • course Adv GRM Grammar/Texts/Contexts (4) 

  • course German Conversation (2) 

  • course German Composition (2) 

  • course German Culture I (4) 

  • course Translation: German (4) 

  • course Introduction to the Study of German Literature (4) 

  • course Advanced German Conversation (4) 

  • course German Literature from the Middle Ages through the Seventeenth Century (4) 

  • course German Literature - Eighteenth Century (4) 

  • course German Literature - Nineteenth Century (4) 

  • course Translation into German (4) 

  • course Business German (4) 

  • course Undergraduate Seminar (2 OR 4) 

  • course Independent Reading and Research (2 TO 8) 

  • course Holocaust and European Literature (4) 

  • course Global Gateways (4) 

* Students who place out of course or course can complete the overall 20 credit requirement with any of the courses listed above.

Note


At least 12 credits of those required for the minor in any of the languages must be taken at Oakland University.
