Course Description

Sheet metal formability, shearing, bending, flanging, hemming, drawing, hydroforming, hot forming, stamping dies and presses. Emphasis is made on analytical models and understanding the results of numerical simulation of stamping using commercial software, sheet metal fracture, wrinkling, springback, recent development of stamping of lightweight materials. *Approved Slash Course. Credit can only be earned for ME 4761 or CSI 5761.Additional Requirement(s): Major StandingPrerequisite(s): ME 3250 and ME 3700
