Parallel and Distributed Computing

Course Description

This course provides an integrated view of the architecture, principles, and programming of parallel and distributed systems. Topics include instruction-level parallelism and its limitations, classification of parallel systems, shared-memory and distributed-memory architectures, distributed storage systems, foundation of parallel algorithms, distributed systems architecture, and programming interfaces for parallel and distributed computing. The course includes a team project. Prerequisite(s): CSI 3640Additional Requirement(s): Major standing
