First course in a comprehensive biochemistry sequence. Structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids; enzyme mechanisms, kinetics and regulation; bioenergetics and catabolism. Identical with BCM 4254. *Approved Slash Course. Credit can only be earned for CHM 4254 or CHM 5254.Prerequisite(s): CHM 2350 with a grade of (C) or higher.
