Applied Mathematics: Discrete Methods I
Course Description
Elementary graph theory (trees, cycles, planar graphs and flows) and elementary enumeration (generating function, 0-1 strings, planted plane trees, cycle decomposition and Lagrange’s inversion formula). Required background includes courses in linear algebra and discrete methods. APM 5663 is cross-listed with an undergraduate course, APM 4663. Student may not receive credit for both courses.
