Course Title
Radiographic Laboratory I
Course Description
The Radiologic Technology Program is making revisions to the current curriculum to better meet students’ needs and accreditation standards. We are rearranging some curriculum, and adding lab courses. Currently, lecture time in Procedures courses are used for labs, which is difficult to schedule and to manage with a large group of students. It is necessary for us to work with smaller groups when we are doing labs because of the size of the x-ray rooms in the hospitals, and to allow for adequate student participation. We have also been assigning student lab projects, which they then work on during their own time (which is okay sometimes), but then we are depending on our clinical site to supervise them during times when they are not clocked in for clinical hours, and we have no way to verify that is always happening. We currently only allow our senior students to do these types of projects.
