Rise of the Modern State

Course Description

This course studies the development and operation of the political institutions of the modern state. We will explore how and why important political institutions arose, how these institutions operated, and how they endured, and/or failed. We will also study how these institutional developments shape contemporary political science problems.General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement in the Western Civilization.
