Intelligent Vehicle Control Systems

Course Description

This course will introduce advanced control design techniques for intelligent vehicle control systems. Topics will include lead/lag compensator design, loop shaping, system norms, H2-optimal control, feedback linearization, sliding surface control, and observer design. Applications will include adaptive cruise control, automated lane keeping, platooning, yaw stability control, rollover prevention, suspension control systems. In each application, a control-oriented model will be developed, and control design will be studied in-depth.*Approved Slash Course. Credit can only be earned for ME 4206 or ME 5206.Prerequisite(s): ME 4200
