Introduction to Health and Health Behaviors

Course Description

This course covers foundational knowledge on health and disease processes and explores the impact health behaviors such as stress management, sleep, dietary intake and physical activity have on risk for chronic diseases including obesity, cardiovascular disease and cancer, with an emphasis on prevention. In addition, this course will focus on evidence based recommendations, the use of health sciences research, and identification of credible sources.General Education Requirement(s): HS 2000 and HS 2050 together satisfy the university general education requirement in the natural science and technology knowledge exploration area.Corequisite(s): HS 2050
