Course Title
Texts from the French and Francophone World (post-1800)
Course Description
A study of texts from the Francophone world post-1800. Through analysis and translation of original documents, students will acquire knowledge of political systems, economies, cultures, and religions in societies across the francophone world. Students will also decipher European foundational texts, thus gaining understanding of Western civilization. Conducted in English. FRH 1600 not required to take FRH 1610. Satisfies the university general education requirement in the western civilization knowledge exploration area or in the global perspective knowledge exploration area, not both.
