Lower Extremity Orthotics
Course Description
In this course, the student will learn about the pathologies affecting the lower extremity. Pathologies will be discussed in view of their immediate impact, treatment and the progression of the pathology as well as the treatment protocols. Treatment protocols will focus on fitting and adjustments of both custom and prefabricated orthoses (custom fit and Off-the-shelf). The students will learn how to identify patient specific outcomes and apply appropriate fitting protocols and adjustment techniques to achieve these. Prerequisites: EXS 3510 and EXS 3520, or BE 4510; These courses may be taken concurrently.
