Teaching, Learning and Schools

Course Description

An introduction to education that examines how students learn, what it means to teach, and how schools work as systems. Cognitive science, approaches to teaching, and the purposes and structure of the public schools are major course topics. The course contributes to core program commitments of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Satisfies general education requirement of intensive writing in the major. Prerequisite(s): WRT 1060 (B or better)
