Introduction to the Global Economy
Course Description
Explains and analyzes the comparative advantage, free trade, barriers to trade, and exchange rates. Composition of international trade is analyzed. GDP, growth, unemployment, inflation, poverty, and income distribution are discussed. Measures of each are shown for the US, other industrialized countries, as well as emerging, and developing countries. Students cannot get credit for both ECN 2020 and ECN 1600. General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement in the global perspective knowledge exploration area. Satisfies the university general education requirement for a writing intensive course in the major. Prerequisite for writing intensive: completion of the university writing foundation requirement.
