Course Description
A survey of Black dance history, exploring the roots of various genres and the role dance plays in race and gender by examining the work of pivotal artists from 17th and 18th centuries, minstrelsy, the emergence of films, up to MTV, and online music and dance video and releases. General Education Requirement(s): Satisfies the university general education requirement in the arts knowledge exploration area.
