Hematology/Hemostasis I

Course Description

An introduction to the field of hematology, including hematopoiesis, and red blood cell, white blood cell, and platelet development, structure and function. The course includes the basic physiology of the human hemostatic system, including the functions and interactions of the vasculature, platelets and plasma coagulant and fibrinolytic proteins. Offered winter semester.Prerequisite(s): BIO 2600
