Numerical Methods
Course Description
Approximations and interpolations, propagation of errors, numerical differentiation and integration, solutions of equations, Newton's method, solutions of differential equations and initial value problems, Runge-Kutta and predictor-corrector methods. Required background includes courses in linear algebra and differential equations. APM 5333 is cross-listed with an undergraduate course, APM 4333. Student may not receive credit for both courses.Additional Requirement(s): Offered fall of even-numbered years.Prerequisite(s): MTH 2775 with a grade of (C) or higher, (APM 2555 with a grade of (C) or higher or APM 2559 with a grade of (C) or higher), and knowledge of a scientific programming language, or permission of the instructor
